Lite-BITE

Due to the current situation impacting the UK and the rest of the world, we have seen an increase in demand for smaller portions. This has been driven by consumer demand as while people still want to enjoy their takeaway, they are looking to cut back on their spending.
The Lite-BITE box is a corrugated box that is perfect for portion control and helps protect the food and keep the meal warm. Here is an idea of what can be served up in a Lite-BITE box:

  • A 6 oz battered fish (4oz unbattered)
  • A 6oz portion of chips (cooked weight)
  • An optional 4oz side order of peas/gravy/curry

Two Compartment Boxes

Keeping the fish fresh and away from the chips can be a challenge if you are trying to minimise the amount of packaging you use. Two compartment boxes, as part of the Hook and Fish Packaging range, offer a way of separating food. Using a cardboard separator that is part of the box, you can keep items away from each other. Helping keep the fish’s batter as crispy and great tasting as when it was cooked.

As part of the corrugated range, the box will keep the products warms and protected while they arrive to your customer’s house, either by your delivery service or by the customer collecting the meal. Collection and Delivery Tips

There are many ways to make offering a delivery or collection service straight forward. Here we have put together some hints and tips that could make it easier for yourself and your customers.

  • Use time slots – for collections give your customers a time slot. This helps control how many people are collecting at once allowing your customers to abide by social distancing.
  • Write names on bags – for delivery this makes sure your drivers give the food to the right person. For collection this can be used to allow for contact less collection, writing the name means the customer can walk up and pick up their order from a designated zone.
  • Contactless payment – encourage payment by card when the customer places their order, either via phone or app. If they are coming into the shop to pay, use a contactless card machine where possible. This helps minimise the use of cash.
  • Use technology – offer your customer different ways to place their order. One such way is to use Facebook to take orders. Let your customers message you via the platform to place their order.
