The National Fish & Chip Awards celebrate the nation's favourite dish and recognise and reward those who are providing us with the best fish and chips across the UK, both in terms of food and service.

January 2020 marked the crowning of the team at The Cod’s Scallops in Nottingham as the No.1 Fish and Chip Shop of the Year at the 32nd awards ceremony in London. Unfortunately the awards have been cancelled due to COVID for both 2021 and 2022, but are geared for the biggest celebration yet upon its return.
Friars Pride is an extremely proactive and supportive sponsor of Seafish and the awards. A role that we as a business have been proud of for many years.
Working along side our colleagues within the Q Partnership, Friars Pride has worked with Seafish over the years to introduce new awards to the event. These support businesses as they work to expand the marketing reach of fish and chips to more and more consumers.
At Friars Pride, we believe in focusing on activities that help to gain attention on both a national and international stage for fish and chips. The National Fish & Chip Awards is the perfect avenue to further both. Friars Pride are proud sponsors of the event.
Supporting International Mushy Pea Day
International Mushy Pea Day was created by Pete Fraser of Harbour Lights to spotlight and celebrate the Great British pea industry. Friars Pride believes it is important for us to reach out to consumers and encourage them to eat peas. For this reason, working with The Q Partnership, Friars Pride ensures support for International Mushy Pea Day.
Friars Pride has taken to the streets of Stamford and Peterborough over the past several years on International Mushy Pea Day to talk directly to consumers. We offer them a chance to eat peas and find their inner "pea-fection". Often during our outings, we are shocked to hear how many people have not tried mushy peas with their fish and chips. When they give it a go, they are always pleasantly surprised at how tasty it is!
At Friars Pride, we are proud to support International Mushy Pea Day. We support our customers through sharing FREE point of sale marketing material and by hitting the streets to talk to consumers to convert them to eating and enjoying peas. Anything we can do further the goal of raising awareness of the humble pea. We support the PEA lovers of the future.
