Seafish - National Fish & Chip Awards
Organised by Seafish, the annual National Fish & Chip Awards is a UK wide competition celebrating true excellence in the fish and chip industry.
On the 24th January 2019, the team at Krispies of Exmouth was crowned the No.1 Fish and Chip Shop of the Year at the 31st awards ceremony in London.
The National Fish & Chip Awards celebrate the nation's favourite dish and recognise and reward those who are providing us with the best fish and chips across the UK, both in terms of food and service.
There are multiple categories to consider entering your business into as part of the National Fish & Chip Awards, the flagship award is that of Independent Takeaway.
Friars Pride is an extremely proactive and supportive sponsor of Seafish and the awards. A role that we, as a business, have been proud of for many years.
Working along side our colleagues within the Q Partnership, Friars Pride has worked with Seafish over the years to introduce new awards to the event that support businesses as they work to expand the marketing reach of fish and chips to more and more consumers. The Marketing Innovation Award came about through this partnership.
At Friars Pride, we believe in focusing on activities that help to gain attention on both a national and international stage for fish and chips. The National Fish & Chip Awards achieve both these goals.
Friars Pride are proud sponsors of the event.
Supporting International Mushy Pea Day
International Mushy Pea Day has been created for the industry by Pete Fraser of Harbour Lights. Friars Pride believes it is important for us to reach out to consumers and encourage them to eat peas. For this reason, working with The Q Partnership, Friars Pride ensures support for International Mushy Pea Day.
Friars Pride has taken to the streets of Stamford and Peterborough over the last two years on International Mushy Pea Day to talk directly to consumers and offer them a chance to eat peas and find their inner "pea-fection"!
Often during these actives we are surprised to hear how many people have not eaten mushy peas with their fish and chips and when they try them are surprised at how tasty they are.
At Friars Pride we are proud to support International Mushy Pea Day, support our customers through sharing FREE point of sale marketing material and support the goal of raising awareness of the humble pea by hitting the streets to talk to consumers, getting them to eat and enjoy peas. We support the PEA lovers of the future.
