Brim

With deep roots in longliner fishing, the Brim had one longliner to its name, the Tjaldur SH 270, and began with around 20 members of staff. At that time the catch was brought fresh to the Icelandic fishing markets and frozen for foreign trade.

Today the company plays a significant rile in the Icelandic fishing industry. It manages the freezer trawlers Brimnes RE 27, Gudmundur i Nesi RE 13, and Kleifaberg OF 2. At present their significant quota is at six thousand metric tonnes of cod equivalents for a variety of species.

Brim has consistently emphasised the importance of owning and utilizing good quality, reliable vessels. Brim Seafood specializes in state of the art equipment and technology for deep freezing fish on board trawlers for Frozen at Sea production. This provides the best quality for customers.

Frozen at Sea Fillet production sees the fish caught from the clear, fresh Arctic waters and processed on board, immediately being deep frozen at a temperature of -18°C within 4.5 hours of being reeled in. This process ‘locks in’ the quality throughout its journey until it reaches our customers around the world.
