RSPO states that the key to overcoming the potentially negative effects of using palm oil, is to continue using it but in a sustainable way.
RSPO argues that given palm oil is one of the world’s most popular and versatile vegetable oils, it proves difficult to be able to boycott the use of palm oil. This is because switching to other oils would not decrease the potentially harmful impacts of palm oil brought about by irresponsible production. Instead, using other oils such as sunflower or rapeseed on the same scale as we do palm oil, would require more land to produce an equivalent amount.
This is why instead of stopping the use of palm oil altogether, we should source palm oil sustainably, and you can do just that with FriWite! By being RSPO Certified, FriWite is an example of how you can positively support the environment and wildlife through using sustainable palm oil.
