The NFFF (National Federation of Fish Friers) National Fish and Chip Awards have announced the top 20 entries for the Fish and Chip Takeaway of the Year category.
The National Fish & Chip Awards
The National Fish & Chip Awards is the largest UK wide event dedicated to raising standards across the industry whilst supporting fish and chip related businesses. For more than 30 years, the awards have celebrated the nations favourite dish, while championing the eclectic eateries that hold up this loved British tradition.
Takeaway of the Year
A category that is proudly sponsored by Friars Pride and the title that many fish and chip shops dream of. For 20 outstanding takeaways across the UK, that dream is getting closer to reality. These businesses are now one step away from being crowned 2026 Takeaway of the Year at the National Fish & Chip Awards.
“There’s nowhere to hide when a chippy puts itself forward for the National Fish & Chip Awards,” says Andrew Crook, President of the National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF).
“The rigours of the process are designed to challenge, inspire and motivate all who take part. One of the key benefits is that businesses receive valuable feedback on how to tighten up and truly be outstanding regardless of winning or not.”
Crook adds, “Fish and chips hold such a special place in people’s hearts and it’s our responsibility to provide steer so that things stay that way and these fantastic 20 semi-finalists are great ambassadors for why it’s loved so much.”
