Friday 5th June 2015 saw celebrations of Fish & Chips across the United Kingdom and beyond, for the first ever National Fish and Chip Day 2015.
Thousands of Fish and Chips shops, restaurants, vendors joined the event, offering customers special promotions for that day, using social media to celebrate, decorating their shops with posters and Best of British packaging and even gaining attention of local media. The collective effort by the Fish and Chip trade put National Fish and Chip Day on the map, encouraging nationwide press and companies to engage in the celebration. From The Independent to the BBC and Paddy Power to Amazon, everyone wanted to talk Fish and Chips!
Friars Pride first tweeted about #NationalFishAndChipDay on 20th May – by 11am on 5th June #NationalFishAndChipDay were trending across the UK, with over 4,500 tweets!
