The Field to Frier award, sponsored by Isle of Ely Produce, is for fish and chip businesses that use responsibly sourced potatoes that are of a high-quality. This prestigious award is part of the 2020 National Fish and Chip Awards which are organised by Seafish.
To get to the finals of this award the fish and chip businesses must impress with their knowledge of their potatoes and use them to produce high-quality chips. On top of this, they must have knowledge of potato varieties, including seasonality and preparation practices.
The Field To Frier Finalists…
The three finalists for the Field to Frier award at the 2020 National Fish and Chip Awards are:
- Fish and Chips at Weston Grove, Chester, Cheshire
- North Street Chip Shop, Forfar, Angus
- Yans Fish Bar, Cardiff, South Glamorgan

The three finalists will now be judged again for both consistency in the product and their service. The winner of the Field to Frier Award will be announced on the 23rd January 2020 at the National Fish and Chip Award Ceremony.
