The finalists for the Menu Development and innovation Award have been announced. This award is part of the 2020 National Fish and Chip Awards which is organised by Seafish. Seafish support the UK Seafood industry and the awards are a premier award for UK fish and chip businesses.
Menu Development and Innovation Finalists
This category is open to all fish and chip businesses in the UK and acknowledges businesses that educate and inform their customer about the healthy eating option of fish and chips – including the nutritional values of the meal. This award is part of the 2020 National Fish and Chip awards.
The finalists are:
- Sutton & Sons, with branches in Stoke Newington, Islington and Hackney in London
- Fish City Belfast, Belfast
- Penaluna's Famous Fish & Chips, Hirwaun, Rhondda Cynon Taf
Throughout the process the businesses were looked at for evidence of menu development and innovation when promoting healthier options. Judges also looked at employee training procedures around dietary requirements, including ‘free from’ products, allergens and ingredients knowledge.
The winner of this award will be announced at the 2020 National Fish and Chip Awards ceremony in London on the 23rd January 2020.
