On a chilly February morning, exhibitors and visitors alike soon warmed up as the friers sprung into action for the annual trade show for the Fish and Chip trade.
With 80 fantastic stands of industry relevant suppliers and business services, the visitors to Peterborough Arena weren’t short of choice or variety as they collected their visitor badges and goody bags before zig-zagging their way around the trade show looking to take advantage of the special one-day-only promotions on offer.
For the 2018 trade show, there was a real focus on the amount of new product and industry innovations on offer. This gave a great buzz to the exhibition hall as new products and serving ideas were waiting around every corner.
FRY I.T. 2018 had customers travel from as far afield as Ireland and the Isle of Wight, therefore it was vital that customers were given a terrific choice of Frozen at Sea Fish, with 5 suppliers represented on the day along with IQF Fish from NH Case.
The show saw attendees from Leinebris, Rammi, Glacialis and JFK Gadus, with Royal Greenland also represented. Rammi also delivered a fantastic presentation in the live seminar area which outlined the process of how the Rammi oCeanReserve Fillets are produced and stored aboard the Solberg vessel.
Other live seminars came from Pete Calvert, speaking about the Drywite Young Fish Frier of the Year award, with a combination of Dani Sewell of Fred Marketing and Louise Marshall from Friars Pride talking about #lovefishandchips #fishandchipslite Consumer Marketing.
The day wasn’t all live seminars though, there were cooking demonstrations and product samples galore for visitors to marvel at and salivate over!
With both new product innovations and current products, the exhibitors treated attendees to an array of Fish, Chicken, Sausages and Chips cooked in various different fats and oils with the ever-present 42nd Street once again being a huge hit. A selection of pies from both established and new brands including Pride Pies were also dotted around the show.
The perfect Fish & Chip accompaniments could be found only steps away from each of these stands with a fantastic selection of mushy pea, curry sauce, gravy and other sauce brands on offer.
There weren’t only savoury offerings for the visitors! Middleton Doughnuts and Kerrymaid Angelito Ice Cream were a huge hit with both young and old alike, with a great selection of drinks suppliers on hand to wash the food down.
The show also presented packaging solutions including bio boxes, formed card trays, both single and two-compartment boxes, card pots, bags and more. The majority of packaging fell under the Hook & Fish brand umbrella which, similar to 42nd Street, is available exclusively to the Q Partnership.
Once again, both the Drywite stand and the Drywite Equipment Shop were a fantastic addition to the exhibition.
FRY I.T. is a huge family event, therefore what kind of show would it be without a stand for the children too! Face painters and balloon modellers kept the kids entertained and happy whilst their parents were made even happier by the exclusive show promotions.
Every avenue really was covered to make FRY I.T. the best show for both existing customers and new, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for coming and we look forward to seeing you at our future FRY I.T. shows!
Keep an eye on Friars Pride’s social media channels for any FRY I.T. 2019 updates!
